Lakai Fully Flared Review

Lakai_Fully_Flared_Cover

I’ve been trying to write this review for a week now, it’s just hard to put into words how good this film actually is. Do you remember the first time you saw Mouse? Fully Flared is to the 2000’s what Mouse was to the ’90’s. The opening sequence is amazing (although it comes off as somewhat over the top at points) the effect of the slow motion and explosions combined with the song “Lower Your Eyelids to Die With the Sun” by M83 is incredible. Click more to read the rest.

The production values used in Fully Flared are nothing new to anyone who’s watched a Mack Dawg snow flick but for skateboarding it is something fairly rare which helps to set this film apart. The effective use of lighting, slow motion, digital effects and high definition cameras give the whole film a quality and consistent feel – something severely lacking in Nike SB’s ‘Nothing But The Truth’. Although it is only a ‘part for part’ film with no story line (such as travel, tours, contests, etc.) the line up of 19 riders makes it something incredible. You can’t really complain when you’ve got Eric Koston, Guy Mariano, Marc Johnson and Mike Carroll on the list.

I think enough has been said in other reviews about Marc Johnson’s three song ender, and you can type Fully Flared into any search engine to get a trick-by-trick analysis of the film from some all-knowing-kid, so I won’t go over it here. Suffice to say, the film is amazing and should be a definite inclusion in the collection. For all the film specs, check below the cut.
