POP’s New South Wales correspondent checked in with an update on the PSP Park & Pipe Masters (Perisher) and the Planet X Games Slopestyle & Big Air (Thredbo). Here’s what I heard… Do you want the good news or the bad news? Well here’s the bad…

The Planet X Games contest was a joke. After waiting hours for the skiers to complete their slopestyle runs the snowboarders were given only 15 minutes to rush through one run. Needless to say a lot of people missed out on their ‘run’ altogether. Apparently there was some sort of miscommunication between Thredbo and Planet X because during the snowboarders ‘run’ there were 2 cats waiting at the start line to push down the park so they could make it into a mogul course for the interschool’s! That sounds like awesome fun! I feel sorry for the park crew.

Now onto the good news. The PSP pipe was rad and the slopestyle setup was good by all accounts. With the course getting the riders approval the Fructis event is shaping up to big. Lets hope they’ve got someone who knows what they’re doing to run the whole shabangabang.
