Lakai have got a post up on their site this morning saying that Koston is no longer on the team. The post says, “Wish we could say this is a belated April Fool’s, but unfortunately that isn’t the case. As of today, Eric Koston will no longer be a part of Lakai Footwear. We have arrived at this decision mutually and believe it will ultimately create a better situation for all parties involved. We thank Eric for his contributions to Lakai over the last three years and wish him well wherever his path may lead.” This is huge news – I don’t know how you could arrive at this decision mutually as for me, it would be a wet dream come true to ride for Lakai and if I was asked to leave I would cry, beg and threaten them to keep me. Conversly, Koston is an idol – how could you let him go? I’m sure there will be all the usual rumors about the split out soon. Stay posted.
