Innovation Two

Tony Woodward - Nose Manny

This past week or so I have been hanging out with Robbie (Cornwell) Rotman and the Innovation film crew,  shooting a check out with Ricky Glaser. They are busy stacking footage for their new movie Innovation Two.  I managed to snap a few shots of the guys as well as have a chat to Robbie about to vid.  Click more to check it out!

So, tell me about your last video, Innovation.

Well, it was just about filming a video really, like putting our stuff together and just having fun, nothing other than that. I watch it every now and again and I can remember what happened the day in most clips and it’s all fun times!

How did the premiere go?

I have had people telling me numerous times it was the best premiere they have ever been to. It was so much fun! It wasn’t that it was the best video or anything; it was just that everyone kind of knew us and on the night everyone was yelling stuff throughout the whole film. It was an awesome…until the fire alarm got pulled and 3 fire trucks rocked up. All good though, after party was fun, thanks Jeff.

How much work in involved in making a skate video? What’s the hardest part?

A fair bit, most of it is just going out skating, having fun and filming it. Hardest part is probably getting everyone together, organizing sessions. I mean it’s easy for Andy (my brother), Pat, Tom, Wynn, Jacko and myself to go skate because we all live around the corner from each other. But, for Ricky and Tim for example they live further away, so sometimes if you want to hit something local it’s harder.

What setup are you using? How many lens’s and camera’s have you broke and how?

At the moment I have a PAL vx2000/mk1 fisheye and a Sony HD Cam. Things started off pretty modest, using my folks little one chip camera and I borrowed my mates clip on fisheye. I soon grew out of it and I saved up and bought a vx2000 and mk2 (lens), and that’s what I film my first movie on and as soon I finished it I quickly sold it, because the mk2 kind of sucks. I then bought an mk1(lens) and now I’m on third lens replacement. It’s all good though.

How is filming for the new video going?

Yeah really good everyone’s getting heaps of stuff, even I’ve filmed a few tricks haha. It’s getting heaps easier now that I have a car, so much easier getting around, everyone’s loving it.

Who’s killing it?

There’s definitely a few, I would have to say Pat Roberts, Ricky Glaser and Tom Paturzo Polson. Wait for the video and you’ll see what I mean.

When do you think Innovation 2 will be done?

Kind of hard to say, because ill say a date and try and stick to it, but I know it won’t happen. I’m just going to wait until it’s really ready. Everyone is killing it right now and I really don’t want to stop that.
