This is was off topic but definitely interesting… The ABC program, the Gruen Transfer, runs a test each week for ad agencies. They are presented with a brief that is “to sell the unsellable.” For instance, selling ice to Eskimos. Last week the sell was “fat pride” or “anti shape discrimination” depending on how deep you wanted to get. The result was two ads but only one which could be aired on T.V. The other was deemed too offensive by the ABC to be shown but they allowed a dedicated website to be set up to show the ad.
