Oakley are having a State vs. State surfing contest at Avalon Beach in NSW this weekend. I only just heard about this but considering they’ve got live commentary and a helicopter (well on the above image at least) I’m guessing they’re expecting a bit of a crowd. Each state team has a coach (Barton Lynch for NSW and Sasha Stocker for QLD) so there’s still some footy fever in the surfing locker rooms. Whilst I can’t say for sure which state will win I’m a bit disapointed the Northen Territory didn’t get considered for the event.
