Google have been running around in their customized snowmobile adding snow slopes to their Maps site. So far they have the likes of Whistler and Crystal happening. Check some details on the snowmobile below and details on their progress in the video below that.

Adidas have signed on Jake Blauvelt to create a line of snowboard boots. The lines is to compete with Nike’s very success entry into the market over the last few years and the aim is to have three boots available by 2013 plus a snow friendly casual boot. Check the ESPN article here for more info.

GQ in the US have a list of what they claim are this northern winters best boards. While they tend to focus on the graphics rather than the tech, they have made a few good choices. Melbourne’s free newspaper, MX, carried a story yesterday on page 19 titled ‘Lift prices a ski-saster’. The short story mentioned an answer given by Buller Ski Lifts managing director Nick Whitby at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club during a Q&A with the University Ski Club. Forum is holding a premiere for their 2011 film Vacation in Melbourne this Thursday night! It’s happening at the indoor snow park in Docklands. There’s a one hour session to ride the park followed by the screening at 8pm – if you havent seen the teaser as yet, peep it over here. The film is going to be awesome! The Art Of Flight had its premiere in Sydney last week. It was attended by more celebrities than your standard snow video premiere but it looks like those that made it along had a good night. Lifewithoutandy were there to capture the night for us – check out a few shots above!

Friday night was Melbourne’s turn to premiere the first film from the Givin crew, One. The premiere was held at the Cherry Tree Hotel in Richmond and the guys got a great crowd there. Check some shots from the night above – thanks to Andy Harrington for wielding the camera on the night!

The final episode of Diaries Downunder for 2011 is out now. This time the guys take a heli trip to go camping for a few days at Isobel Glacier. According to the little blurb the guys got two windless, bluebird days. Will Jackways, Nick Brown and Nick Hyne found a good jump spot and rode a line at 8pm. Check the clip below – looks amazing! Gretchen Bleiler has scored the cover of ESPN magazines Body Issue which is the issue dedicated to celebrating the athletes body each year. The shots are all amazing and the gallery is well worth a flick through. Bleiler isn’t the only snowboarder to get in though with Louie Vito scoring a spot. Burton put out a release this morning saying John Jackson has joined the team. Jackson was formerly with Forum and has won ‘Video Part of the Year’ twice and took out his second consecutive ‘Rider of the Year’ award at the TransWorld Riders’ Poll Awards this year.
