Phelps’ “chronic break” turns to headache.

Here’s just a few interesting articles about surfing, skating, snowboarding and other entertaining subjects that made the news during the previous week.

Rebagliati Feels Phelps is Cheech to His Chong. Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ross Rebagliati, has lept to the defense of US swimmer, Michael Phelps, who was caught ‘hitting the buges’ last week. Rebagliati was temporarily stripped of his medal won at the 1998 games in Japan for marijuana use. The medal was later returned.

Teens Having Fun, Local Residents Unconcerned. The Courier Mail reported on a group of guys skating on top of an abandoned shopping centre. The report was unsuccessfully sexed-up, which made for an entertaining read.

Ultimate Boarder Registration Now Open. The 2009 Ultimate Boarder contest is now open for registration. The contest sees riders compete in snow, skate and surf events testing their all round skill on a board. Clint Allan did well last year in the contest. The event kicks off on April 4th at Bear Mountain.

It’s Not About Salary. It’s All About Reality. There’s a neat blog post by Joshua G about why people skate over at skateboard.com. It’s not for the money, for the fame or the free product – it’s all about fun.

50 Cent Decides That He Too Will ‘Moisturize His Situation.’ I’m sure everyone has already had a laugh at the shock announcement that Fiddy will be launching his own cosmetics for men line. But don’t worry – it’s not metro or anything. The line will be ‘butched up’ by including vitamin supplements.
