I just got word that the 2006 Burton Australian Open has been cancelled due to insufficient snowfall. Whilst some of you might be thinking ‘why didn’t they just do a big air/rail jam/party’… I for one am glad that they made the difficult choice of not doing it at all. If it was held on a crap course all it would do is make snowboarding look bad. I respect Burton’s respect for Australian snowboarding. Get the official press release here.
